February 25 is a Philippine Special Holiday!
Good News to all Students!
Malacanangdeclared February 25 as Special Holiday for all schools whether public and private. This in celebration of the 26th Anniversary of the “EDSA People Power Revolution”, themed as “EDSA 26: ANONG TAYA MO PARA SA PILIPINAS NATIN”.
February 25 used to be a NO-WORK day for all Filipinos yet this year; it will be a regular working day for all employees since it is NOT a special working holiday. Too bad! L
The announcement was made late last year, November 2011, thru President Benigno Aquino Proclamation No. 295 declaring all Philippine Holidays for year 2012 (Inclusive of Regular, Special Non-Working Days and Special Holidays (for all schools).
The 1986 Edsa revolution paved way for the Mother of Noynoy, President Cory Aquino, to be placed as the 11th Chief Executive of the Republic of the Philippines. This also marked the end of the dictatorship of the Marcoses and the return of a true democracy.
QUOTE TO PONDER:
Although our interests as citizens vary, eachone is an artery to the heart that pumps life through the body politic, andeach is important to the health of democracy.
